Listing on Poshmark

There are two listing options for Poshmark these days: through the web or through the app. Regardless of which way you list, here are some tips that can take some mystery out of listing.

Photos- A great, eye catching cover shot and as many clear supporting photos as possible. At the very least do front/back, but I also strive for different angles and for close ups of details and tags. For most of my clothing listings I do a flat lay & a mannequin shot, front & back at a minimum.

Title- Think about how you would search for your item, and about how Poshmark now will use information from that title to fill out the rest of the listing (currently only available on the web). Include the brand, color, style name (if known), size and any other information that fits. Use up all of the characters available. DO NOT USE EMOJI. As cute as they are they will eliminate you from search results. Another posher that knows much about SEO (search engine optimization) also recommended staying away from using all capital letters and trying not to change your title once you have made it.

Description- include anything important that doesn’t fit into the title field. Condition, fabric and measurements are must-haves. A lot of poshers like to also include where the garment was manufactured and care instructions. This is also a good place for any additional keywords that could help buyers find your item. Don’t leave out measurements. Sure they’re a pain, but do you really want to miss out on a sale because someone was unsure about the fit? Think about it this way: why do you try on clothes? Try to answer any questions that trying on clothes would answer.

Posh Activity

Poshmark is an app that really bases itself on being the social network of shopping. This has pros & cons. Pros are that it feels more like a community and can be addictive. Cons are that to be successful you can't just put up a listing and wait. I have been finding that diversifying activities within the app seems to boost sales. The more you diversify your activities, the better. Activities to consider:

Listing
Sharing your own listings
Sharing others' listings
Commenting
Following
Purchasing
Requesting Styling
Styling others (direct sharing)
